| Observação: Stem cespitose or solitary, 5 m tall, 6 cm diam., much softer than E. precatoria. Leaves 9; sheath bright orange red, 87 cm long; petiole and rachis densely covered with reddish-brown scales on younger leaves, the scales becoming black, very few long brown fibers at sheath apex; petiole 17 cm long; rachis 240 cm long; pinnae 49 per side, spreading horizontally and not pendulous.
