| Observação: Stems solitary, to 50 cm tall. No spines on plant. Petioles 1 m long; leaves entire, bifid. Inflorescence spicate, pistillate flowers at base of spike only, no spines on inflorescence; fruits globose. A voucher specimen collected for a study on spatial distribution of palms in Amazon forest funded by biological dynamics of Forest Fragments Project (BDFF).
